Lino Muoio : Mandolin Blues
The first record in Italy entirely dedicated to blues mandolin.
Lino Muoio is a very active Napolitan bluesman in the Italian scene for over 10 years, with the legendary Group Blue Stuff.
He presents here a new kind of "work" born of his passion for the mandolin, an instrument which, although having a secondary role in the blues, is creating a new connection between Naples and the States.
The project is only made of original compositions, based on stories of everyday life, as in the authentic blues tradition.
Blues on me :
“It’s an impressive debut – good songwriting in the spirit of traditional blues lyrics. And a lot of versatility on guitar – finger picking, slide, lead, a bit of jazz, plus mandolin and banjo. Really good production and packaging too. I hope you have success with it. (Your “Roosevelt Stomp” reminded me of Charlie McCoy.)” Prof. David Evans (Big Road Blues/Musicologist)
Mandolin Blues :
"Lino Muoio compie il salto di qualità rinvigorendo con personale stile e cuore le sonorità del mandolino blues. L’ardua interazione tra passato e presente è finalmente compiuta. Per riconoscere e ricordare l’ essenzialità nel blues del mandolino con un tributo intenso e sanguigno." - Bluessuria
“Wonderful grooves. I especially like the diversity of sound and rhythms, from slow blues to New Orleans jazz. And of course your mandolin playing! Bravissimo.” - Rich DelGrosso
“You may be my favorite blues mandolinist. The songwriting and performance are excellent. My favorite cut is probably Memphis Blues. You have a natural command of the mandolin” - Jim Richter
